Amanda Shaw is certified in Veterinary Assisting & CPR/ first aid, she has life experience as well as hands on education for over 15 years.

Why do we pet sit in your home?

We take the place of the "pet parent". Your pet is happiest in their own environment with familiar smells and sounds. They are kept to their daily routine and the lifestyle they are acustom to. This prevents them from getting sick. They won't catch a communicable disease such as kennel cough, the flu, fleas, parasites, upset tummies if kept at their home. They get one on one star treatment and are given an overall check to make sure they are well and happy.

We believe this method is peace of mind for both you and your pet.

THE ALPHA DOG

Amanda Shaw has been a pet parent for over 30 years. In the past 15 years she has put hard work in her studies at BOCES Tech on Long Island for her veterinary assisting certification. There she learned about more than just the domestic house cat, she had hands on experience with livestock, too. Moving forward Amanda furthered her education in function grooming at the NY School of Dog Grooming in Manhattan. Over the past 10 years she has had hands on training experience in veterinarian practices, animal shelters, doggie daycare facilities & kennels.

Amanda recently worked with a very reputable Westminster Show Dog breeder, where she was one of their top "Pet Nannies" and was in charge of administering medications and care to more than 30 dogs, 3 of which are Pit Bull Terrier rescues. She continues to help the public with education and rehabilitation and conservation everyday.

Amanda has been on medical watch for pets in their homes post-operative so, moms and dads can get a good night sleep knowing their babies are safe and sound in their own environment and well looked after. She accompanies clients to veterinary visits so they feel less over whelmed when dealing with a serious subject. She has been known to accompany new parents to shelters and breeders to research and pick out the puuurrrrfect fit of dog or cat for their lifestyles.

At present Amanda is working with a concierge Veterinarian and is assisting in surgeries.

She is the type of person who will go above and beyond in all she does. In her spare time you can find her assisting in local animal shelters, hosting events with other local businesses and furthering her education. Amanda can recommend the proper nutrition and toys and homeopathic ideas for keeping peace in the home and a content pet.

Her passion is the animals, her mission is to help families keep their pets happy and healthy and to cut down on the over populated shelters.
